I’ve had several requests for some of my blocks to have a shortcode equivalent, so the block can be used in a page builder such as Elementor or Beaver Builder. The main issue with blocks is that they can only be used in the block editor or with block themes. With Pattern Wrangler, you can convert blocks into shortcodes with just a few steps.
In this “How To,” I’ll show you how to use the new plugin Pattern Wrangler plugin to create a shortcode equivalent for a block.
Step 1: Get Pattern Wrangler
Get a copy of Pattern Wrangler. It enables a new Patterns menu item where you can create a new pattern.
Step 2: Create a new synced pattern
Go to the new Patterns menu item and create a new synced pattern. We’ll be adding our block there.

Step 3: Configure a Block and Publish
Add your block to the pattern and publish the pattern.

Step 4: Copy the Shortcode for the Pattern
Head to the main Patterns screen and copy the shortcode that was created for the pattern.

Step 5: Add the Shortcode to the page builder
The last step is to add the shortcode to your page builder. Since shortcodes can work almost everywhere, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Conclusion
That’s all it takes to convert a block to a shortcode using patterns. Please give Pattern Wrangler a try below.
