DLX Plugins
These are the plugins and themes used to create this site
I’ve been playing with hosting most of my adult life, so I am always thankful when I find a great host.
I’ve known Remkus de Vries for some time now, and he recommended I try out Servebolt for a bit to see if it was a fit. I’ve changed so many hosts over the years that I was extremely skeptical. I eventually got around to trying Servebolt out in 2020. I was blown away by the free trial. I’ve been a happy customer since.
If you want super fast WordPress sites with fantastic support, you should choose Servebolt.
I can’t say enough good things about Cloudflare. While it takes some getting used to, Cloudflare can be configured to help your site with just about anything. Servebolt helped set up my Cloudflare account.
A great theme to me is one that integrates with my e-commerce solution, allows me to customize within the block editor, and allows me to set sane defaults.
Astra is a powerhouse of a theme. I’ve tried GeneratePress, the Kadence theme, and numerous others throughout the years. I always come back to Astra as it is lightweight and compatible with almost everything.
Performance is key to a successful website. While this website is not perfect as far as speed goes, these plugins have been extremely helpful.
Servebolt has its own utility plugin to assist with caching and general speed settings.
I’ve tried several optimization plugins, including WP Rocket. I’ve found Autoptimize to be very effective for caching/performance.
RapidLoad is an add-on to Autoptimize. It helps with critical CSS, among other things. The plugin is super helpful for further optimization.
EWWW Image Optimizer is a great tool for compressing images and even serving WebP images. The support is very good as well.
I use the following tools to layout pages and for content marketing purposes.
GenerateBlocks only has a handful of blocks, but they are powerful.
The block suite is perfect for layouts and general layout management.
Kadence Blocks is a block suite with several useful blocks, such as a Table of Contents, Accordion (with schema markup), and icon lists.
AlertsDLX is a free plugin for easily inserting notices and alerts. I use it heavily in my tutorials.
QuotesDLX is a premium plugin that makes inserting quotes as easy as possible.
I’ve played with several Gallery blocks, and this one was the most fully featured and works great on mobile.
Here are a few tools that I use to sell my WordPress plugins.
Easy Digital Downloads is the best solution for selling WordPress plugins on your site.
The current SAAS solutions are buggy, a pain to set up, and have limited feature sets.
Easy Digital Downloads is pretty easy to set up, and its add-ons cover most use cases.
Add-ons Used
SliceWP is by bar the easiest affiliate plugin I have used.
The developer is rock solid and the quality and attention to detail are very well done.
