Plugin Info Card 5.2.5 is out and it is packed with a few new features and numerous bug fixes.

Let’s go over what’s new.

Override a plugin or theme’s title

Side-by-Side Comparison of Title Overrides

Plugin titles have become unwieldy and too long, commonly breaking the layouts of the cards or making things seem too squished.

Now with Plugin Info Card, you can change the titles per plugin or theme, even in grid layouts.

For shortcode users, just use the plugin or theme slug and pass it a new title.

[wp-pic slug="wp-plugin-info-card,highlight-and-share" multi="true" cols="2" highlight-and-share="test highlight" wp-plugin-info-card="test"]Code language: plaintext (plaintext)

For block users, you’ll see new sidebar options for each plugin you have displayed. You can edit each title by clicking on the appropriate panel.

Hide a theme or plugin from a list

For those using the grid or query blocks, you may find a time when you may not want a certain plugin or theme to display. Using the same logic as overriding the titles, you can pass a slug via shortcode and mark it as false.

Here’s an example shortcode:

[wp-pic-site-plugins cols="2" col_gap="20" row_gap="20" scheme="scheme13" layout="large" query-monitor="false"]Code language: plaintext (plaintext)

For block users, it’s even more straightforward. Just head to the sidebar panel and select which plugin you would like to hide.

Simply switch the toggle to off for each plugin you’d like to hide.

Two new block commands for easier plugin or theme insertion

You can use Command + K to open the command palette in the block editor, and now you can use it to easily add a new plugin or theme.

Just search for “Add Plugin” or “Add Theme,” and a modal will display, prompting you for a .org URL or slug.

The Query block has been refactored

The Query block’s options have been consolidated and makes for a much friendlier search interface.

The Query loop’s frontend has also been updated, using CSS Grid instead of floats for layout control.

The shortcode and block arguments have both been updated to accommodate the new layout.

The Site Plugin Grid has improved usability

There’s no longer a need to click a loading button to load your site grid plugins. The grid layout has also been adjusted to be more consistent with the other card grid layouts.

You now have the option to skip animated GIFs from being displayed in the Plugin Screenshots card.

I’ve also fixed the following bugs:

  • Stats section has been reworked to look better on mobile devices
  • The lightbox wasn’t working on mobile or with other Fancybox plugins installed

Conclusion

This is a feature-packed release, so please be sure to grab yourself a copy of Plugin Info Card.
