I Have Adopted the Ajaxify Comments WordPress Plugin

Ajaxify Comments
Ajaxify Comments is Under New Ownership

I’ve been a fan of Ajaxify Comments for a while. The plugin allows you to post comments via Ajax, which allows a comment to be posted immediately without a reload.

Over the years, Comment Edit Core users have asked for a way to integrate with Ajaxify Comments, which is how I came to be aware of the plugin.

Recently, a user inquired about the Ajaxify Comments integration, and I came across a post saying that Ajaxify Comments was looking for a new owner.

Forum Post Asking for Adoption

I hate it when good plugins get abandoned, and since I already have a native integration with the plugin, I thought it made sense to adopt the plugin.

I contacted the owners expressing my interest, and they felt it made sense as well. As a result, Ajaxify Comments is now under active development again under my ownership.

The future of Ajaxify Comments

The first order of business was to get the plugin out of update limbo. It had the dreaded “3 releases” error message on the plugin page, so I did some surface testing with the latest version of WordPress. Everything looked fine, so I decided to release a small update, changing internal documentation and updating the readme information.

Here are some future items I’d like to address:

  • Re-organize the admin panel
  • Create a plugin documentation site
  • Better theme integration
  • Build a way to get the comment selector markup automatically
  • Build integrations with Comment Edit Pro

If you have your own wishlist items for the plugin, please leave a comment below.

I’m looking forward to these new features and working with the new users that come with adopting a plugin. For more information and to spin up your own demo, please visit the new Ajaxify Comments landing page.
